Know the different types
Traditional survey panels tend to offer many small tasks. Academic or market-research interviews, product research and user-testing studies can be less frequent but may pay more for a longer session. Availability depends heavily on the profile researchers need.
Do not treat invitations as guaranteed income
Screen-outs are common because a study may need a narrow demographic or type of customer. A platform with lots of invitations can still produce little usable income for a particular person.
Measure your real hourly return
Track the time spent qualifying, completing studies and waiting for payments. A £5 task is very different if it takes ten minutes versus an hour including screeners.
Check how you are paid
Look for the minimum cash-out level, bank/PayPal/gift-card options, expiry rules and how long approval normally takes. Rewards locked behind a high threshold are less useful if you rarely qualify.
