The current 2026/27 position

For the 2026 to 2027 tax year, the overall ISA subscription limit is £20,000. Different ISA types have their own rules.

A change is coming in April 2027

Government guidance published in September 2026 says the Cash ISA limit for people under 65 will reduce to £12,000 from 6 April 2027, while the overall ISA limit remains £20,000. People aged 65 or over retain a £20,000 Cash ISA limit under the announced rules.
