Contributions matter
Regular contributions can be as important as the assumed growth rate, particularly early on.
Time changes the illustration
Because growth compounds, extending the period can materially change an illustration. That does not make the assumed rate certain.
Use scenarios, not predictions
Try several rates and contribution amounts. Treat each result as maths based on assumptions, not a forecast of what an investment will deliver.
