Housing and priority bills

If you are struggling to pay, prioritise consequences rather than simply paying the loudest creditor. Some missed bills have much more serious outcomes than others.

Communications

Record contract end dates and current monthly prices. Out-of-contract services deserve particular attention.

Insurance

Compare at renewal, but do not remove cover you genuinely need simply to reduce the monthly total.

Subscriptions and memberships

Streaming, apps, software, gyms, clubs and delivery memberships are easy to forget. Cancel what you no longer value and record the annual saving.

Annual and irregular costs

MOTs, servicing, boiler servicing, licences, memberships and seasonal costs should be converted into monthly sinking-fund contributions.

Best order: list → mark renewal dates → identify unused costs → compare negotiable bills → automate savings.
